Film synopsis :
Echassières, in the Allier department: 400 inhabitants, a few businesses that are holding out and a subsoil rich in resources. After the exploitation of tungsten and kaolin, it's lithium that is now in the spotlight. For some, the extraction of this fundamental mineral for electric mobility will be the key to the demographic and economic survival of the region, as well as an important step towards national security of critical raw materials. For others, intensive exploitation of the subsoil will be a headlong rush that will have a major impact on the environment, anachronistic at a time when the planet's limits are being exceeded. By presenting the contrasting positions of local residents, the film highlights the uncertainties associated with energy transition policies in an area directly affected by their implementation.
